Are there alternative solutions for these conditions?
Yes, there are alternative methods for assisting those who have various types of mental conditions, and the varying degrees of these conditions. Not all these treatments work for everyone. Some of these treatments are as follows :
- Basic therapy
- Regression therapy
- Hypnosis therapy
- Group therapy
- Psychedelic therapy
Basic therapy
This form of therapy is exactly what it sounds like. You sit with a therapist and discuss things that you feel like talking about and they may or may not all questions to help guide you further into your trauma(s). For some individuals, this type of therapy might work for them. Others it may not.
Regression therapy
This form of therapy forces someone to “go back in time” to address their trauma(s). This therapy can be extremely emotional and potentially even prevent the person from making any progress toward healing. With this type of therapy, people may unlock aspects of their trauma(s) that they had locked away and put up a mental block. As with any therapy, this may not be right for everyone.
Hypnosis therapy
This form of therapy places the person in a state of a trance that can allow them to delve deep into their subconscious mind and potentially address, heal, and move on from their trauma(s). Some of the aspects of hypnosis therapy also can appear to have the same aspects of regression therapy. For some people this works well, for others as with regression therapy it can also lead to the same mental blocks.
Group therapy
While this form of therapy isn’t always used as a main source of therapy for different types of traumatic events, it has been used. These groups can be for victims of domestic violence, and alcohol/drug abuse. There are even support groups for those who have served our country and experienced things that no one ever should have to see or endure.
Psychedelic therapy
This type of therapy has been extremely slow in gaining momentum when it comes down to its being used as a therapy method. Many doctors are close-minded and just want to push pills. Some haven’t even heard of this form of therapy. The basics of this form of therapy are that you use a form of medication that has little to no side effects once it’s out of your system. This therapy in my opinion should be greatly studied and doctors educated on this method of therapy.
At the end of the day, you may end up having to do the trial and error method with finding a therapy that works best for you. This could include multiple forms of therapy to help you heal from traumatic experiences. I can’t tell you what will best work for you.
